a budding teeny tiny micro flower farm offering floral arrangements featuring home grown blooms

A woman and a young girl hugging in a forested area, both smiling. The woman has long dark hair and is wearing a white tank top and blue jeans. The girl has dark hair, is wearing a brown hat, white shirt, and blue overalls. They are surrounded by grass and white flowering plants.

The garden was my peaceful oasis and digging into the dirt became my preferred therapy. No matter what life was throwing at me, every week I found myself purchasing myself a little bouquet while grocery shopping. There is just something about having fresh flowers in my home that brings such joy and a simple reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. The theme of this season of life has been “Be Still” (Psalm 46:10- one of my favorite bible verses). Life may be a storm, but through every storm comes calm waters and beautiful sunsets.

I frequently say my daughter is my green thumb. Before becoming a mom, I couldn’t keep a house plant alive. Now, almost six years in, our home looks like a green house full of house plants and it spills out into our yard: home of our teeny tiny micro flower farm just across the street from the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. It is such a joy to share the love of growing things with my mini me. You can frequently find us both barefoot in our garden, soaking up the sun with the rest of the flowers.

For probably the past year, my daughter has been asking to do a lemonade stand. Everyone that knows me, knows I do not do well in the kitchen. So as much as I want to make her dreams come true, I knew I had to find an alternative to lemonade. 50 dahlia tubers planted later, the solution came to me: flowers! After a few test runs of a self-serve bouquet stand, the good Lord took the wheel and the rest is history. You know when things fall so beautifully into place that you just can’t argue that this is the right path for you? Bingo.

Now, you can find Little Bloom and Bloom Boss of Bay Bouquet arranging floral designs for weddings, parties, proms, and just because gifts! We can be found at many local events with the Bloom Bar- a floral experience where guests get to create their very own bouquets, hand selecting their favorite blooms. And even more, we love collaborating with other small businesses including Keks & Crumbs, Potomac Farm Market & more.

We are so happy to share all the beauty with you and we hope to meet you real soon!
